I’m frequently told it is important to have the right tool for the job because it makes the job easier and quicker. As we’re doing a full house renovation it means there is often a reason for my husband to get a new tool. Looking in our garage I think he must have all the tools we could ever need for our house including a tile cutter, pillar drill, belt sander, orbital sander, mitre saw. He’s built his collection over many years, through purchases, presents and hand me downs from family friends. There are so many tools we can’t get a car into the garage if we wanted.
However, my husband looks at his father’s tool collection with envy. Yes he already has a mitre saw, but his father has an extending one which apparently cuts at more angles. He also mentioned a reciprocating saw in wistful tone. I think we will be getting more tools before we’ve finished work on our house.
It seems our four year old son already wants to be just like Daddy and Grandpa. He loves investigating their toolboxes and helping with the renovations (obviously when the task is safe enough for him to join in). Of course Grandpa is happy to encourage this fascination with tools so recently bought him his own boiler suit and little paint roller, so he looks like Daddy. I have a feeling that the number of tools in our garage will continue to grow as our son grows and we start on tasks such as fitting bathrooms, kitchen and staircase. If you now want to increase your tool collection have a look at Engelbert Strauss Tools.
Of course I like having the right tool for the job as well, such as Hootsuite to schedule tweets or Canva to create imagery, however my tools have the advantage of being digital and using up just a little less space. What are you favourite tools and where do you store them?
Disclosure: This is a collaborative post, but all words are my own.
Well, you can never have too many tools, although in this case it does beg the question: can’t your father’s husband lend your husband his tools, or is this a major no no?!
They do share tools, but they both use them so often that it will inconvenient if they’d lent a tool to someone else so they couldn’t use.
One of D’s faourite ever possessions is his old metal toolbox that his Dad bought him when he was 6! Cute.
That is sweet. M is definitely keen to get his own tools, he recently got the opportunity to help knock down a wall which was great fun.
