August has been a mixed month. It was nice to have a long weekend in the sun in Dorset, but I needed this time to relax after two hectic weeks at the office.
Goals – I’ve made some progress on identifying my goals during August and feel excited about continuing with the process.
Fitness – I have exercised every day in August, apart from one day when I was ill. I have mixed up the exercise so I don’t become dependent on being able to go to the gym which I think contributed to me losing the habit last time. I have walked, run, cycled, swum, rowed, cross trained, sailed and hiked. On some days when I’ve been aching or haven’t been feeling very energetic I have gone for a walk around the estate where I live and have really enjoyed this quiet time.
My weight has decreased by 1.4 kg to 68.4 kg (for imperial fans, it is the equivalent of around 3 pounds). I know this is not a large amount, but I am not rushing this change because I want it to be a stable change. There are still many improvements I can make such as increasing the intensity of my workouts and reducing my chocolate intake further.
Tasks – My task list backlog has reduced by 6 days to 68 days (and I thought it was getting longer)!
Books Read – I’ve read 4 books, taking my total for the year to 40 (leaving 35 for the remaining 5 months, at an average of 6.3). You can read my reviews on this site
The fiction reviews do not show on either the home page or rss feed as I thought it maybe a bit overwhelming when I was importing my old reviews. However, let me know if you are interested in reading them as I’m happy to change the setting.
Bonus – I emptied my email inbox at work yesterday and fully processed it today so it has been empty for two successive days. It is much easier to empty the inbox after starting the day with an empty inbox so there is no backlog and anything there must be new.
